COVID-19 vaccinations are available free on the island at Vashon Pharmacy and Sea Mar at Sunrise Ridge, as well as other locations off-island.

VashonBePrepared is a coalition of some 10 disaster preparedness organizations on Vashon-Maury Island in Washington's Puget Sound region. Incorporated in 2007 we now work closely under Vashon Fire, King County of Emergency Management and support our partners' nearly 400 active volunteers.

  • Hear the latest on area hazards and what help to expect after a major event.
  • Be guided through an individualized assessment exercise.
  • Receive tools to help you build a truly resilient business.
  • Help set community goals and the topics for future workshops.

This Open for Business! workshop series comes to you from VashonBePrepared and has been enthusiastically endorsed by our partner, the Vashon Chamber of Commerce. These workshops have been designed to serve all Island businesses regardless of size or location.

Space limited!

The workshop will be led by business continuity and disaster expert Shelby Edwards of ODT Associates, LLC. Most recently the Global Director of Business Continuity and Crisis Management at NIKE, Edwards lives right here on Vashon and she brings to us her several decades of experience in planning for, responding to and recovering from major events.

A small number of complimentary private consulting sessions will be made available to businesses participating in this inaugural event.
