She joined the Vashon community in late 2022 as coordinator of the Vashon-Maury Island Community Van program, a King County-run rideshare service helping islanders get around without a car.

She went on to help launch and lead VIFR’s Mobile Integrated Health program, which provides preventative care and home check-ins for medically vulnerable islanders, including follow-up visits after surgery, wound care, fall prevention, social service and behavioral health support. Under her leadership the program has grown rapidly , from 42 patients in its first three months to almost 700 patients in the first five months of 2026 alone, with the program now fielding six to 15 calls a day from islanders requesting same-day or next-day appointments.

In June 2026, she helped secure a three-year, $1.5 million funding agreement between the Vashon Health Care District and VIFR to sustain MIH operations, calling the program’s growth “one of the most meaningful experiences of her career” and describing its mission as making sure neighbors can get the right care at the right time, regardless of their age or income.

Beyond her fire district role, she’s represented VIFR as a State/Local Government sector member of a regional prevention coalition (VARSA/CPWI) focused on reducing underage substance use, and has been visible in island life more broadly, including community outreach events and coverage of storm-relief efforts for vulnerable residents.
