This session is designed to help you plan for both short and long term loss of power to your business. In this workshop you will hear...

  • What you can do to mitigate the impact of power outages on your business.
  • How Puget Sound Energy handles its own continuity of operations plans so that they can maintain operations and continue to serve customers.
  • What steps PSE takes to minimize the risk of disruption, how PSE plans for major storm events, and how Vashon Island fits into regional plans.
  • How PSE identifies outages and prioritizes restoration.

The Open for Business! workshop series comes to you from VashonBePrepared and is endorsed by our partner, the Vashon Chamber of Commerce. And this series of workshops has been designed to serve all Island businesses regardless of size or location so please join us.

The workshop will be led by business continuity and disaster expert Shelby Edwards of ODT Associates, LLC. Most recently the Global Director of Business Continuity and Crisis Management at NIKE, Edwards lives right here on Vashon and she brings to us her several decades of experience in planning for, responding to and recovering from major events.
