dnn website softwareThe VashonBePrepared website was originally created and maintained by Dan Schueler with www.IslandImage.net from roughly 2005 into early 2010, based on our story archive from the old site.

John Cornelison took over and has maintained it since using DNN and on hosting by WebSecureHosts. Although WebSecureHosts
have been great, the group's needs for a robust website (as it becomes more vital for our alerts, EOC operations, and daily functioning) has led us to to our new hosts at Managed.com. Moving to the new site went anything but smooth, as our January backup had incomplete files, and many of the binary files were strangely of the wrong version. Suffice it to say the site has been down or at least in a degraded state (form an older backup) for a couple weeks. My apologies for any issues associated with that.

Fortunately the issues were surmounted and the new site should go live after a bit more testing. With the new site, backups will be done regularly, it will be easy to pull down copies that can be run locally if the island's internet connections were severed, the site is running updated software with better security and features, and administration is much more fluid. We'll also be updating a few key pages in the next week or two.

Anyone interested in taking on ownership of a page or section is welcome to contact me and there should be a few more people writing blogs for the site soon. Exciting times ahead, so let us know your thoughts.
